• Hello, I am scheduled for a colonoscopy. I was told not to take any supplements, vitamins etc, seven days prior to the procedure.
  
  I have been regularly consuming 2 ounces daily of Aloe Vera juice concentrate.
  
  Do you think I should consider this a 'supplement' and discontinue it's use also or would it be safe to continue on a daily basis?

Hello AlvejuBeco, thanks for asking and I hope from my heart that there would be not disturbing findings from colonoscopy.

As I have mentioned in another answer, I have not studied medicine and all my answers are based on my personal experience, experiences of other reliable people and in bibliography research.

Since I am not a doctor and I do not know exactly the general state of your health, you should consult your physician before any final decision on taking or not aloe vera or other supplements.

However, here is my answer to your question:

The key points to a colonoscopy first is, to be the colon clean, ie not to exist remnants of food and secondly not to be colored by the natural color which is present in certain foods or juices so the doctor can see clearly the state of the internal of the colon.

If there are remnants or color, the doctor can not clearly distinguish the inside of the colon and you will be obliged to redo colonoscopy, following this time more closely the given diet.

Aloe vera is a nutritional supplement but it is a natural supplement, not an artificial one, and the synergistic action of its components neutralizes the side effects of each separate component.

Aloe can replace all the nutrients will be missing from your diet these seven days prior to the procedure and can cleanse the colon of undigested food.

But because aloe vera contains minerals and especially iron, which is likely to shade the inside of the colon is better, if not seven days but at least the last three - four days not to drink aloe vera juice.
